Flying Needles Embroidery, LLC is a custom embroidery shop continuing to serve the Gleason and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin markets. We are at the point in our careers where we are not accepting new customers. We will continue to serve our regular customers. Our mission is to provide high quality products at a competitive price. Our embroidery services encompass the full range from simple monograms, to logos and lettering, and finally complex artwork. Our equipment flexibility allows us to consider one or two item orders as well as much larger quantities. We will stitch on your high quality items or we can provide items for your embroidery needs.

- Digitizing of your design or Logo. Digitizing is a process of taking artwork or photographs and developing s stitched design from the paper or digital design. We can also work with you to design a logo, special design, message, or monogram.

- What is Digitizing?
- In order for the embroidery machine to stitch a design, it needs a special machine language that controls the needle (color), the shape it will stitch, the type of stitch it will use, the location of the stitches with respect to the center of the design, etc.
- To create this machine language, the first thing that must be done is to convert a scanned photo or digital image to vector graphics, or to create the vector graphics using a drawing program such as CorelDraw. The digitizing software we use allows us to take a photograph and convert it to vector graphics. The embroidery software is built on the CorelDraw platform.
- Occasionally, we can use an auto-digitizing feature of the program to create the vector graphics, then convert it to stitched fill areas.
- In most cases, we need to redraw the contents of the photo using the drawing features of our software, then we select the type of stitch and the color we need to stitch into that area. Often we need to add shading features, etc.
- Once we have completely redrawn the image, including the fine details, we can stitch a sample and fine tune the design for efficient production on the embroidery machines.
- The digitizing process can take anywhere from about an hour to 4-5 hours or more, depending on the complexity of the design.
